The omakase here is EXCELLENT!! It’s the best I’ve had outside of Tokyo. The preparation of each course was perfect. There’s also a nice sake and Japanese whiskey menu. In addition to the counter, the bar upstairs looks fun and is more casual.

This is an amazing restaurant! Went last night with my girlfriend for her birthday and we got lucky because we reserved for the omakase at 5:30 and had the whole place to ourselves! Carlos, Vee, and the others were amazing with great service! Since it was just us and the staff, we got to know them and engaged in very nice conversations. 10/5 for the service! For the courses and food, it was amazing! A big variety of fish and seafood that I haven’t tried before, prepared very delicately and artistic. They told us the fish and seafood are sourced freshly everyday according to the season. The food tasted amazing as well, paired up with the sake that comes out with each course was just super good! I was worried (as a first time omakase enjoyer) that we wouldn’t feel satisfied and feel like we would have to go to mcdonald’s after, but that was not the case. The 24 courses included was enough to fill you up and make your taste buds experience something they never had before. Each course has its own story from where it’s from and how it is prepared. 10/5 for the food as well! As I said in the beginning, we got lucky and had the restaurant to ourselves. We got to engage with the service a lot, and the restaurant itself was very nice. From the seating to the utensils and plates and glasses were all super pretty and even the presentation of the food. Everything was eye catching and we couldn’t be happier. Overall 100/5! If you’re looking for a nice omakase experience and want to spoil yourself, I HIGHLY recommend Ogawa Sushi and if you go, I know you’ll have a great time!

My husband and I went go Ogawa last year for our anniversary when they first open, but finally writing a review because I keep thinking that should come back soon. There aren't many omakase places in Philly, I've been to most of them and I would say this is one of the best omakase in Philly. They served fresh fishes and some dishes are very unique. 200 for 23 course is very reasonable price for these top quality ingredients. We were so full and couldn't finish all the courses that we have take it home. And Our chef was so nice and the service was top not. Definitely recommended.

Exquisite. I have so few words for this experience. It was a birthday meal and I had spent a few weeks researching the best Omakase the city has to offer. This restaurant was prominent in social media, but was also featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer that dived into Chef Ogawa’s Michelin recommended restaurant in Washington DC. Raw Fish is very hit or miss for me, and I wanted to give it a proper chance by trying some of the freshest the area has to offer. In this case, many straight from Japan. Very few of the fish had a strong seawater flavor, instead many were perfect. Some were dry aged, others were brined, and others were braised, all of which exquisitely done. The eel was amazing. The little crabs gave me a fright at first, but was very pleasantly surprised that they did indeed taste and feel in texture just like a potato chip with old bay seasoning. The eel was one of my favorites. What I will advise is the full beverage pairing, which comes with a highball, Japanese whiskey, and sake tailored for each entree. With Omakase, you’re always taking a bit of a risk that you won’t like something, the definition of it is of course allowing the chef to decide for you. In this case, the success rate was extremely high, enough to justify a visit by someone who sometimes shies away from various fish. Overall an excellent experience. Wishing everyone well.

WOW! What a great experience. This is my new favorite dining experience in Philadelphia. We went for a birthday and everything was exceptional. The Omakase experience was remarkable & the service was outstanding. Our chef Andy and server Chrissy were both highly knowledgeable, personable, and friendly and really made the experience as lovely as it was. We did a sake pairing with each course, and we highly recommend as it took everything to the next level. The Omakase experience is a perfect special occasion dinner and truly a unique dining experience. Every single bite was incredible. Every sushi lover needs to try at least once!

My first omakase experience and it exceeded all of my expectations! Chef Andy was so knowledgeable and friendly. The sushi was obviously fantastic. Truly some of the best bites of fish I have ever had in my life. We also did the drink pairing which was expertly curated and explained to us by our waitress. I would 100% recommend Ogawa to anyone wanting to have an amazing evening! Can't wait to come back.
